Instaeye, available for Android through the Google Play store, is a great little app that solves a problem for many users of social networks, and Instagram in particular. Instagram has an annoying feature that can’t be switched off, which is the ability to double tap on an image to ‘like’ it.

Many people love this feature as it makes ‘liking’ images and pictures as easy as possible, but it is very easy to ‘like’ something by mistake using this feature, which can lead to some embarrassing moments. instaeye

The app may only be created to perform one simple task, but it does do this task well, and has worked fine on each of the three devices that I tested it on. Each time, there were no more touch to like features working in Instagram, and you can’t say fairer than that.

The app itself is very easy to use and only takes a few seconds to stop the likes from working. How it does this I have no idea, perhaps using some kind of space magic. What I did appreciate about the app is that it does not require you to have root access to work.

Instaeye can also block the ‘heart’ button on Instagram if you want it to, although it doesn’t make it disappear altogether as there is a portion of the screen blocked off.

Overall, there is not a lot to say about such a small app like Instaeye. It is asked to perform a simple task related to a specific app, and it does this well. If you are looking for an app to remove the click to like feature on Instagram, or to remove the heart icon, then this really is a no-brainer, as Instaeye does a stand up job with both of these tasks.

Recommended.
