Toad Slash - Brendan PrebbleOur ‘Apps to look out for’ reviews are quick looks into apps that may well have passed under your radar, but may in fact be worth a look, and possibly even a purchase. Have a peek at today’s app and see if you think it is worth your time and money.

Toad Slash

This Halloween themed title is a decent take on Fruit Ninja, with the obvious difference being the use of toads instead of fruit. Now, don’t worry the game isn’t gory at all, as the whole thing is done in with a mild and comical theme.

Set in a creepy swamp, the idea is to ‘slash’ toads, frogs, tadpoles, fish and snakes as they fly around the screen. You slash by drawing a line with your finger in a fast fashion, hopefully annihilating the creatures in the process. Things can get quite manic, so it is important to hold your nerve and to keep concentrating.

You can miss three times before it is game over, but if you keep hitting things in a row, you will build up a combo meter, which helps to increase your score massively.Toad Slasher

Here are the app’s best features:

Slice and dice your way through the halloween swamp setting! Slashing ugly toads, frogs, tadpoles, fish and snakes as they try to sneak past you! Be careful of scary pumpkins though – they will explode, ending your slashing fun!
Who knew slicing could be this good!

The game is designed for iPhone, but is also fully compatible with the iPad, as it is designed to be a universal app, which is always a plus in our book. The graphics are good, and I liked the creepy swamp theming. As a highscore game, this is a good title to crack out when you feel like a spot of action gaming.

Overall, Toad Slasher is a decent game for a good price, and is well worth checking out.
