Big improvements ahead

This will, hopefully, become a watershed moment for The Smartphone App Review.

In the recent months, we have gone from strength to strength, our readership growing by a factor of two each month for the last three months, an app in both the Android Market and the Windows Phone Marketplace, as well as a TouchPad app in development(more on that soon!).

We have also just been accredited by the O.A.T.S organisation for app review standards and practices, which you can see by our shiny new seal at the bottom of the site.

That’s all thanks to you, our readers.

But up until now, we have always been a part time Website. The two writers, myself and Samantha, have only been able to spare an hour or two each day to dedicate to the site. We do get a lot done in those hours, but getting a review up each day, when you consider the fact that we like to give each app a lot of attention, really can be a struggle.

So, from this week onwards I will be taking the plunge and begin working full time on the site. The last few barren days on the site, a necessity in order to finish the WP7 app, will be the last empty days here. Samantha will continue in the same capacity as before.

So, here are the things to look forward to from here on out:

+ A review or two every day. We will try to cycle between the formats better as well.

+ More news. We have a good relationship with many developers, expect a few more exclusives.

+ The Android Weekly Widget really will be weekly now. Promise.

+ A brand new regular feature, The Smartphone Wars. We take an app on multiple formats and test each version against the other, this will be good….

+ More iPad reviews, we have neglected the format of late, this will be rectified very soon.

+ A lot more promo code giveaways and contests, particularly on Twitter

So, thanks to everyone for reading, we really appreciate every visit and look forward to making the site bigger and better for you.

Simon.
