Our Mini App Reviews are quick looks into apps that may well have passed under your radar, but may in fact be worth a look, and possibly even a purchase. Have a peek at today’s app and see if you think it is worth your time and money.

Drum Fanatics

There are so many ryhthm action games on iOS, from the soon to be cancelled Rock Band games, to the Tap Tap series, so any new game in this genre is going to have to go some to stand out from the crowd.

Drum Fanatics hopes to be one that raises its head and shoulders above the rest, and it tries to do this by appraoching the genre from a different angle. The notes on Drum Fanatics buck the vertically scrolling trend and scroll sideways, which does take a little while to get used to, but it actually works really well.

The game has 12 songs to play along to, Game Center integration and the ability to customise your own drum sets. It proves to be an addictive experience, and the wide range of difficulty levels (14 of them) mean that anyone will be able to pick this up and play, and hardcore fans will be well served, as the game can get quite tricky.

Overall, this is a decent game, and feels sufficiently different from all the other games of this type to be worthy of your attention, so I would recommend you take a look, especially at the current sale price.
