itunes iconInterested in music? Looking for a creative way to express your musical talent? Now, create your own unique songs and discover their images with the Melody Composer Squared app by Pavlo Karnaukhov. Here is the app’s description:

Melody Composer Squared is a unique editor for creating, analyzing and editing melodies using their conversions to images. The app uses the Diagram, which graphically discovers messages and puzzles, hidden in music.Melody Composer Squared image 2

Melody Composer Squared will be interested for children as an educational tool and for adults who would like to understand principles of a melody creation.

Features
– the app contents no ads;
– has all functionality for the creation of gorgeous melodies;
– a library with examples of simple forms and famous melodies;
– an intuitive interface;
– the small size of the app.

Tools
– Pencil tool: build a melody note by note;
– Eraser tool: double tap clears all frame;
– One-touch tool: create a melody just with one move.

Compatible with iPhone 5/5s, 6/6s, 6 plus/6s plus and iPad 3 and higher.
Notice: instruments “oboe” and “solo violin” have limited playing range, as usual.

Melody Composer Squared doesn’t have much in the way of a tutorial, but is fairly easy to learn. Opening the app and hitting play brings you to the composing screen with a blank graph and a play button in the middle. Tools to add and edit notes to place on the graph run in the middle of the screen. Add your notes in a picture form on the graph and the notes will be added to the music sheet below, or vice versa. Then just tap the play button to hear the melody you have just created.

You can edit further by adding or erasing plots and lines and even changing the type of note being played. Double tap the eraser to clear the screen completely and start fresh. Finally save and name your creation by tapping the small arrow on the left to reveal a side menu for saving your melodies and opening ones previously created. There are other options here as well that you can use to tweak your song like changing the instrument from the piano, changing the tone and tempo. These features are locked initially, but can be unlocked for an in-app purchase of $0.99. The app is free and contains no ads which is a big plus. I found the way this app worked fascinating, creative, and hard to put down.

Melody Composer Squared is an intriguing app that is certain to peak anyone with an interest in music and its graphical functions. The app is available now in the App Store for free.
