Several anticipated titles have made an appearance in the App Store as of late. One such title came with a big surprise as developer Andreas Illiger decided to release his follow up to the hit game Tiny Wings for free. This statement was displayed in the update:

Hi Tiny Wings fans! The long-awaited Tiny Wings 2 is finally done! I’ve put a lot of love into creating this major update, and I hope you’ll enjoy it. You’ll be getting a completely new game mode with 15 hand-designed levels, a whole flock of baby birds, fish, and other surprises! And here’s the best part: Tiny Wings 2 is a free update, as a thank-you to my loyal fans (and because I don’t particularly like in-app purchases). 🙂

Tiny Wings now includes 3 game modes, Day Trip, Flight School and Hill Party, with 15 new levels added to the Flight School chapter. Play as mama bird or one of her four children. Retina support for iPhone and a new HD version for the iPad was released. The new iPad version also features multiplayer, allowing you to play against your friends on one iPad. Add to that iCloud support that syncs your game between versions, and that’s one sweet update.

The new Tiny Wings HD for the iPad costs $2.99 while the iPhone and iPod Touch versions remain at the $0.99 price point.
