Cinema-trix - SID OnOur ‘Apps to look out for’ reviews are quick looks into apps that may well have passed under your radar, but may in fact be worth a look, and possibly even a purchase. Have a peek at today’s app and see if you think it is worth your time and money.

Cinema-Trix

Cinema-trix, designed for both iPhone and iPad, is one of the most ‘fun’ apps we have used in quite some time here at The Smartphone App Review. With plenty of features and an arrow like focus on having fun, Cinema-trix is well worth getting.CinemaTrix iPhone

The basic idea of the app is that is creates an augmented reality over the top of your camera lens, making the normal, real world look far more fun and interesting. The difference between this and other special effects apps is that ball the effects and distortions take place in real time, so you can switch between the various filters with ease and see what things are going to look like right away, without having to wait for the image to be processed.

Here, straight from the developer, are some of the app’s best features:

• Real time special effects utilizing the iPhone camera.
• Configurable application affect options (different color filter options, edge detection, pixel size, blur, posterize)
• High resolution photo “snap-shot” options.
• Edit photos from photo library.
• Photo and video sharing options via Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, and email.

The app also works just fine on an iPad, so those of you who prefer to heft an iPad around as a camera, and I know that many of you do, will feel right at home with this app. Universal design is something that I feel should be built into every app.

The videos and photos that you can create with this app can be really funny, and if you put the time in you can create your own ‘mini masterpieces’. The app is very easy to use and navigate, and is also completely free, so why not give it your own test run and become a director for the day?
