It is only on the very rarest of occasions that we get to review a truly life changing app, and that is exactly what we have here with WalletHub. Use this app and the corresponding service, and you can learn how to build or repair your credit score. For free.

Free credit scoring services are few and far between, and many of them either want something in return or are part of a bait and switch scheme, but WalletHub is different. It is not only a free service, but also comes with this fantastic app that could (and should) become part of your everyday financial habits.

Here, straight from the developer, are the app’s best features:walethub

• Free credit scores, updated daily
• Customized credit-improvement tips
• Free TransUnion credit reports, updated daily
• Free 24/7 credit monitoring to warn you of identity theft and fraud
• Personalized savings alerts so you’ll never overpay for financial products

Once you have registered, the app will display your credit score in an easy to understand format, which uses a similar look to a lot of other apps from different fields. This is a good thing, as you will be able to see exactly how you are doing with one glance at the screen, and the intention is that you want the results on that little dial to get better and better as you get into improved habits.

One particular aspect that I really liked is that the app will tell you of a recent transaction could have been completed cheaper with another credit card, with an alert. This is a good idea, as if this keeps happening, you will learn that perhaps your current card isn’t giving you the best possible deal.

Things like this, alongside the reporting, will mean that you start to improve your finances, little by little. If you have a poor credit score, then this really could be an indispensible tool. The 24 hour identity and fraud alerts are the icing on the cake.

The app itself is intuitively designed, with a classic iOS look that is a pleasure to use. With bright colours and a positive vibe running throughout, the app pushes users to improve their score, and this can only be a good thing.

Overall, if you are looking for a free service and app to help you improve your credit score and offer you the best financial deals, then WalletHub is an essential free download.
