The Kindle Fire is coming up on its first birthday, which means Kindle Fire 2 could be on its way, and sooner than you might expect.
News on added features are already coming out on the new model. According to AllThingsD, sources say Amazon’s newest Fire could feature a built-in camera and be thinner and lighter. The display may also come with a higher resolution and match that of the iPad 2 at 1,280 x 800 pixels. The Kindle Fire’s current screen is 1,024 x 600. It will also have a more square aspect ratio of 1.6 verses the current 1.71.
The new Fire could ship as early as September, which enters it into an already full tablet competition with the new Nexus 7 and rumored iPad Mini.
Will these new features be enough to compete this holiday season? Let us know what you think.
