Apps to look out for is a regular feature where we take a look at an app that may have otherwise gone under your radar, and that may be very well worth a look.
MobileCast
Productivity apps are ten a penny in the App Store, with many of them all crowding to compete to do a select few jobs. MobileCast has found a niche in the market that cold very well prove to be essential to a lot of people.
If you use Microsoft PowerPoint then this app has to be classed as unmissable.
The app allows you to send and receive slides and presentations via a free plugin that you can install on your Mac or PC. The plugin allows you to send the slide or presentation direct to your iPhone or iPad with a couple of clicks, and to also receive the presentation or slide from your device. This aspect of the app worked really well in my testing.
A recent addition to the app is the ability to send slides to your Evernote account. This is a great new feature and makes it all the easier to share slides, especially if you are a regular user of Evernote.
Here is a list of some of the app’s features:
* Instant PowerPoint slide transfer from source to mobile devices
* Simple one-step slide sharing process
* Integration with Evernote account to instantly forward slides
* Real-time presentation following capabilities
* Compatible with PowerPoint versions 2007 & 2010
* Flexible slide deletion, saving, and exporting options
The app itself is really smooth and easy to use, and setting up the plugin on a desktop is a breeze. It looks functional and attractive, and the notifications are intelligently used. Compatible with both PowerPoint 2007 and the more recent PowerPoint 2010, the app is a nice addition to your home screen if you are a regular user of PowerPoint.
The price is well set, and the way it helps to expand PowerPoint to use your iPhone makes it well worth a download.
