Apps to look out for is a regular feature where we take a look at an app that may have gone under your radar, and may in fact be worth a look.
GeoEmpires
GeoEmpires for iPhone, is a location based conquest game that could possibly be the best thing to happen to your iPhone, especially if you have iPhone owning neighbours. In the game, the map is made up from your actual neighbourhood map, think Google Maps but with added warfare.
You can attempt to takeover or raid an opponent’s area, as long as you have a lot of loyalty in that particular area. There are coins that you can collect to spend on upgrading your own defences, but in a brilliant touch, you actually have to physically go to the point on the map that they are in to grab them.
I can see people getting ridiculously addicted to this game.
Here, straight from the developer, are the game’s best features:
-Fight against players all around the world or with your friends. Be the lord of real territories.
-Plan your attack strategy, or just chat with your friends right from the app.
-See who is the most powerful lord, and how are you standing against other players around you.
-Search for treasures and gold, raid enemy territories.
-Defend your territory, by building a strong kingdom.
-Various reward are waiting for you to be discovered.
This is a very good and innovative game. There are medals, or achievements that you can collect, which definitely add some extra replay value to the game, and the live stream of all of your activities is also a nice touch.
Overall, this is a great little game that is currently completely free on the App Store, and is also available for Google Play.
