Apocalypse Knights is a hidden gem on the App Store, a God of War style action game that features some gorgeous graphics and decent gameplay. Viewed from a top down perspective, it is your job to defeat wave after wave of demonic enemies.
You can perform various combos, and there a plenty of attacking options, the best of which is the ability to jump on your horse a deliver a whole load of damage to the demons. You can build up your attack to eventually perform the Ultimate Ability, a graphically rich attack that will dispatch many foes. The enemies are well designed, as is the knight character, and it all reminds me a little of Darksiders, at least visually.

The animation here is really good, especially on the main character as he runs through his combos and moves, and you can call a friend in to help you out in the 10 stages with 60 waves, controlled by the CPU. The app works with the iPhone 4 and 4S, iPod Touch 4th Gen and iPad.
It all plays very nicely and is a good time waster, so this is definitely worth a look.
