Ah, emoticons. These little graphical representations of intent, once limited to a few simple emotions, now have a seemingly unlimited amount of images to use in emails, SMS messages and the Internet. Available for the iPhone by way of adding them as alternate keyboards, emoticons seem to be in every other message I receive, and there are literally hundreds of thousands of them you can find and use.
The only problem for emoji lovers is the fact that, to get all these emoticons you have to download dozens of apps, and it can be really difficult to find the perfect one you want to use, which is where Emojicreator steps in.
Available in both paid and free versions, Emojicreator allows you to create your own, personalised emoji and use them to send to friends.
Tired of choosing your emojis. Its time to take matters into you own hands and let yourself free and customize your emojis. Be among the first to make your own emojis and send the most unique And original images to your friends and relatives.
*Add captions to add a funny twist to your images.
*Resize anything you want.
*Change color as much as you want to make it your own.
* Rotate anything you want
* Add backgrounds
*Endless possibilities for emoji designs.
The editor is pretty decent. You can add individual elements, such as a head, eyes or hair, change the colour for each part and change the size and rotation. You can add custom text to it, and even a background from your photo album.
Once you have finished your masterpiece, you can save it to the app’s own album, start a text message or email(with the image already added to your clipboard, just ‘paste’ the image into the message field), and also save it to your man camera roll, if you so choose. There are also options for logging in and sharing on Facebook and Twitter.
The app is well made, and all the included images are of a decent quality- I just think that there should be a lot more images included in the package, especially in the paid version. Hopefully more will be forthcoming in future updates.
The only real problem I have with the app is that there doesn’t seem to be a way of adding all your creations as a custom keyboard on the iPhone, giving quick access to them all. As it is, you have to go through the app each time you want to use one of your creations. Perhaps the developer could unlock this feature after you have made a certain amount of emoji, meaning you would have enough for a full screen or two, and even make this a nice target for users to aim at.
It isn’t a massive problem, and by no means a deal breaker. Otherwise, what you have here is a really good idea for an app that will no doubt prove popular with emoticon addicts as well as those looking for that perfect emoticon amidst the thousands available.
