Our Mini App Reviews are quick looks into apps that may well have passed under your radar, but may in fact be worth a look, and possibly even a purchase. Have a peek at today’s app and see if you think it is worth your time and money.

Funky Bee

Funky Bee for iPhone and iPad, a universal app, is a great adventure game that at first glance appears to be a typical hidden object game, although it is actually more of a complete, well rounded adventure game with some hidden object elements.

There are many mini games to play, and plenty of locations to explore as you try to solve the mystery of the game. All the locations look really nice and have clearly had a lot of love and care put into their creation. Here, in the words of the developer, is the story that runs through the game:

Five hundred years ago, a terrible dragon destroyed the magical Funky Bee castle in a blaze of fire.

Rallying around Her Royal Beeness, Queen Groovisma, the few survivors rebuilt the castle and peace was once again restored to the valley. And so it has been for centuries.

But recently, a series of mysterious magic outages have plagued the castle and its inhabitants.

To make matters worse, bears have been sighted on the banks of Honeydew River, near the Great Dam.

Rumor has it that the bears have somehow found a way into the ancient catacombs that lie deep underground. But how? And why?

Now it is up to you to discover the truth behind this growing threat and save Funky Bee before it is to late!

The game is a free app, and is ad supported, which does mean you get a small ad during the gameplay, which you can remove with an IAP. The ad is pretty unobtrusive, however, so I can see a lot of people going through the entire game with the ad there. Not bad for free really.

Overall, this is a decent little adventure that has plenty of variety and attractive graphics. For the price of free, this is well worth checking out.
