Nihilumbra is a fantastic platform game that is one of the best hidden gems in the App Store. Both hauntingly beautiful yet captivating playable, Nihilambra is a rare treat, and something that platform game fans should snap up in an instant.

Following the lonely journey of a small smudge named only ‘Born’ as it makes its way out of the Void it was created in, the game sees you being relentlessly pursued by the Void itself as it tries to bring you back to where you were created. You will journey across diverse landscapes, each more pretty and full of life than the last, and the Void will slowly consume and destroy all the worlds you to to escape to.

The story is brilliantly provided by mysterious writing across the walls that sometimes helps you with tips but more often calls into question your existence and the futility of you quest. The game also has a nice paint mechanic where you can use paint to alter certain aspects of the environment. Paint the floor blue and it will become super slippery whilst painting it green will make it bouncy. There are enemies prowling the stages, and the way that you have to outwit and avoid them calls to mind the original Oddworld games

The game is great, and I recommend that you take the plunge and grab this one right away!
