Manilla may be, for many, the complete solution to managing all of your household bills in one place. It is surprising to see such a comprehensive app for free, so if I were you I would download the app right now before the developer changes their mind. Seriously.
So, why all the fuss? Well the app, at a basic level, allows you to log in to all of your online, bill related accounts and view them to some degree. Obviously the app is limited somewhat with whatever the providers allow the app to view, but from what I have seen, pretty much everything is there.
After you have gone through the process of logging into your accounts and categorising them, you can then view each bill and account, set up reminders and generally browse through all your bills. I found the ability to set up text reminders for when bills are due incredibly helpful, and when you add in the fact that you can enter an offline account(such as rent) and set up reminders for that, it proves to be surprisingly useful.
The real genius of the app, however, is that it gives you free online document storage. This allows you to store bills, print them and keep everything far more organised. Believe me, it really does make a difference.
Now, the only problem with the app is that it is very US focused. All the providers are American, and you can’t even register without a US zipcode. The developer should not make it available in regions where it simply isn’t going to work. Hopefully intime, they will update the app to make it more international.
Here, straight from the developer, are the app’s best features:
– Everything in one place
– Monitor bills, finances, travel rewards & subscriptions
– Automatic reminders to help you avoid late fees
– Organized document storage for bill, statements, notices & offers
– Never get another late fee again
The interface is decent, the app transitions between sections work well, and I could not find any bugs or problems with the app during my time with it. Aside from the fact that it really is USA only, this is a superb app that could prove to be an absolute lifesaver for those who take a chance on it.
Overall, this is one of the most useful money apps we have seen here at The Smartphone App Review, and should be considered an essential free app.
