Our ‘Apps to look out for’ reviews are quick looks into apps that may well have passed under your radar, but may in fact be worth a look, and possibly even a purchase. Have a peek at today’s app and see if you think it is worth your time and money.

Spirit Runner

There are many endless runner games now available for mobile but Spirit Runner, available for iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad through the iTunes App Store, is a bit better than most of the dross you can infect your device with.

That is because the developers have taken the bold decision to make the game far tougher than other games, with a difficulty level that will test you far more than the other games of its type on the market.

The idea of the game is to sprint across a jungle landscape, avoiding obstacles, jumping and dodging as you go, and attempting to collect as many spirits as possible.

Here, straight from the developer, are the app’s best features:

Get ready for the first true survival endless runner! Collect as many spirits as you can to stay in the game while avoiding all the obstacles and bad spirits that will stop you in your tracks.

-Collect power-ups to help you along your way.

-Completely fill your spirit gauge to become invincible!

-Trade the spirits you’ve collected along the way to buy power-ups to help you in your next play session!

The game is enjoyable, and I liked the way the tonal colour of the backgrounds changes, giving the game a better sense of atmosphere. There are different difficulty settings, good graphics and a spirit gauge to fill, making you invincible.

Overall, if you are looking for a challenge, then Spirit Runner is a good choice for fans of endless runners.
