Magic Pin is specifically designed for the specialty pin fanatic in mind. Sign-up is easy with just an email and password. Complete the profile for the account with personal information including name, country, state, and birthday. Then add a photo for more personalization. Once all signed up, start a new board and begin scanning in pins.
New boards can be created to separate pins into categories or themes to keep things organized. Users have two boards available which can hold 20 pins each for free. For access to all pin trading features and additional pinboards, there is a membership subscription for $1.99 monthly, $19.99 yearly, or $99.99 for a lifetime.
The Magic Pin app has a very Pinterest feel to it which makes it familiar and easy to use. Adding the pins has a unique feature built-in that scans the pin as the photo is taken, cutting it out from the background. The scanned image determines if there is a match in the system for that pin shape and will auto load the pin details if so. This seemed to work best for Disney pins specifically. If the pin is not found, the information for the pin can still be added manually. This includes release date, edition, and price.
If desired, pins can be listed on the marketplace where interested collectors can purchase them. PayPal can be setup in the profile as payment method for buying and selling. Browse other members’ collections, connect through message, buy, sell, or trade through marketplace. It is definitely a pin lovers dream. There aren’t a lot of members at the moment, but as the app grows, I can see this being a great resource for pin collectors everywhere.
Magic Pin: Trade Collectibles is available now for free on the App Store. Android users can also find it on Google Play.
