Apps to look out for – Photo Editor Windows Phone Review

Apps to look out for is a regular feature where we take a look at an app that may have otherwise gone under your radar, and that may be very well worth a look.

Photo Editor Windows Phone 7

There are quite a few options when it comes to photo editing on Windows Phone, but many of the apps available get one big thing wrong – the user interface. This is perhaps the area where Photo Editor really excels, although it does also offer up a pretty comprehensive range of options and features to compete with other apps.

The first thing you are presented with upon boot up is the option of picking a picture either from your own gallery or to take a brand new photo. After you have either taken a picture or selected an old one, you can then edit to your hearts content. Photo Editor really uses the Metro user model well, as it is very easy to switch between the main sets of options, meaning that you never get lost when editing.

Here, straight from the developer, is the main list of features:

* Crop Photos

* Rotate Photos

* Adjust Brightness

* Adjust Contrast

* Re-size to reduce the image size

* Change color to black and white, Pop, Negative and Sepia.

* Fully Recolor the photo in RGB mode.

* Paint to draw lines and shapes of different colors with various effects

* Doodle to add frames, text and brush your photos in different colors

* Save and send edited photo as an email

* Upload photos to Facebook

* Adjust Sharpness

* Blur Effects

So, as you can see there is a really impressive list of features here, and it all works really well and is smooth and fast. Being able to doodle over images and attach clip art is great fun, especially when combined with the Facebook upload option. I personally find the ability to resize pictures really handy, and it is surprising how many apps simply don’t offer this option, or if they do only offer it upon saving the image.

So, overall this is probably the best, most fully featured picture editor on Windows Phone, and successfully combines serious editing features with fun throwaway options.

Highly recommended.
